School MenACWY Vaccine Clinic for Rising 12th Graders
Parents of Current 11th Grade Students,
As we prepare for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year, we want to help make sure your rising 12th grader is ready for a successful start. Virginia law requires that students entering twelfth grade receive the Meningococcal Conjugate (MenACWY) vaccine before school starts in Fall 2026. To make this as easy as possible for families, the Mount Rogers Health District will be offering this required vaccine at your child's school on April 14, 2026.
Take this opportunity to get your child immunized and protected for the 2026-2027 school year and beat the back-to-school rush.
The Health District is offering MCV (meningococcal ACWY) vaccines for all rising twelfth graders at your child's school in April.
If you wish for your child to receive the vaccine, please review and complete the attached consent form. This needs to be returned to your child's school by 3/26/2026.
Your child will not be able to receive the vaccines at school if any requested info1mation is missing or incomplete.
If your child has already received these vaccinations, please send a copy of the vaccination record to the school.
There is no out-of-pocket cost for parents or guardian, but we are required to bill all allowable costs to third pa1ty payers(e.g. private insurers, Medicaid, etc.). This means that complete billing information must be provided as indicated on the registration form.
If you prefer, your child may receive these vaccines at their medical provider's office or at your local health department this summer.
If you have questions or need help with-registration, please contact your local health department - we 're here to help.
Sincerely,
Meagan Helmick, PhD, MPH, CHES
Health Director
Mount Rogers Health District
