🎉 SWVA Can Code PitchFest Highlights! 🎉
On Tuesday, August 29, students from Virginia Middle School and Virginia High School traveled to UVA Wise to participate in the SWVA Can Code PitchFest — a celebration of innovation, creativity, and coding!
💡 Over the summer, students took on the challenge of designing app simulations that address key economic or community issues.
👦 Representing Virginia Middle School, Max H. presented Recycle Ranger, a game-based app designed to teach younger audiences how to recycle properly. With three interactive game designs, Max’s app made learning about sustainability fun and engaging!
👨💻 Representing Virginia High School, Philip W. introduced One Health, an all-inclusive app that tracks physical, mental, and wellness appointments — promoting holistic health management. Philip’s thoughtful design earned him 1st place in the High School division! 🏆
💻 These challenges enriched students’ understanding of programming and coding languages while encouraging creativity and design thinking.
