Emily Christian

Emily Christian, Nominated by a Colleague

Emily goes above and beyond to help anyone in need.  We have to call for Ms. Emily to come assist us and she always comes, and our kids love her.  She always has the appropriate response to any need in the classroom.  Sometimes it is as little as the child needs help doing a paper and wants her assistance. Emily has great contributions to any classroom.  She is always willing to help and always available when needed.

 Katie Cordle

Katie Cordle, Nominated by a Colleague

Katie is a crucial support for our students. She is constantly walking/running/driving to respond to our students’ needs. If I think BEST, I think Katie. She will spend hours laminating, searching, emailing, and meeting to provide out students with the supports needed to be successful in school. Our two elementary buildings would have the behavior support, resources, and spaces the students need without Katie’s advocacy and push to support our most significant kiddos. Katie is phenomenal and deserving of all recognition for her continued work and support. Katie is an excellent meeting and training facilitator sharing her knowledge with others to help each and every student get access to the social-emotional-behavioral supports they need! We are blessed to have such an amazing support in our system.

Tonia Neirmans

Tonia Niermans, Nominated by a Parent

The day before Christmas break 2024 school was cancelled due to cold weather. Unexpectedly, I hear a knock on the door.  I answered and to my surprise I see my son’s 5th grade teachers at our door!  Ms. Niermans and Ms. Adkins both came by to see him to give him his gifts. My son was so excited and overjoyed by this surprise visit by his teachers. These ladies went above and beyond to visit their students even though school was canceled. Nothing stopped these amazing teachers from spreading some holiday cheer. They made sure my boy would not be disappointed, and they delivered the Christmas gift my son had made for me at school. The present a beautify keepsake with his photo. He smiled so big when he realized what they had brought for him.  As for me I will never forget the look on his face, the happiness and joy we felt, and the pride by boy showed as he handed me this extra special Christmas present!

During the year, my son showed a decline in his grades. She was concerned; she scheduled a parent/teacher conference with me. I appreciated being included.  Ms. Niermans open communication has helped to strengthen the support system we provide my son.  She has become my teammate by striving to ensure the success of my son’s education and academic career.  He has shown a lot of improvement this year.  Ms. Niermans is an exemplary teacher, positive influence, and role model.  Thank you for all you do!
