Mr. Adams has been an in-school detention supervisor for the last five years. His favorite foods are ribs, Chinese, and lasagna. He likes Duke Blue. He enjoys coaching sports. His hobbies include fishing, playing golf and basketball, and working on his car. He’s excited to be a positive influence on students at the new school. He’d love to visit with you – OUTSIDE of the detention room!


Welcome to Our New Tech Teacher!
Mr. Gilbert loves all things tech and will teach STEM at VIS. He has 4 years of teaching experience. His favorite foods are watermelon and ice cream. He enjoys fishing, lifting weights, coaching football and tennis, and spending time with his family. He’s excited to see how creative students can be in the STEM lab.


Meet the Math Teacher!
Ms. Cooper has taught for 11 years. She’ll be teaching 3rd grade math this year. Her favorites include Chick-fil-A, Dr. Pepper, and the color purple. Her hobbies include reading and going on adventures with family. This year, she’s excited to work with some amazing new colleagues and to meet her new students.


Meet Mrs. Adkins!
Mrs. Adkins has been a teacher for eight years. She’ll be teaching 5th grade. Mrs. Adkins enjoys reading, eating Mexican, and drinking coffee. Her favorite color is pink. She loves watching her daughters cheer and play softball. Mrs. Adkins is excited to meet her students and to enjoy the brand-new school building.

Ms. Asbury is our very talented Art Teacher, working with all grades 2nd-5th. She is coming up on five years of teaching experience. Ms. Asbury likes whale sharks and Studio Ghibli movies. Her hobbies include playing Dungeons and Dragons (proud nerd), making weird art, and running (admittedly slowly). This year, she’s most excited about having all our students in one location, a super cool art space, and trying out the brand-new kiln.


Meet Mrs. Sanders!
Mrs. Sanders has taught for three years. She works with students in all grade levels. Her favorite colors are yellow and orange. She’s a sucker for Taco Tuesday and loves listening to music. Mrs. Sanders enjoys attending sports games of any kind, and spending time with her family. She also loves to read a good book. She is most excited for the opportunity to advocate for and guide students on their path to self-sufficiency and success.


Meet the PE Teacher!
“Coach Z” Lallande has taught for 11 years. She’ll be one of the Physical Education teachers at Virginia Intermediate, serving 2nd-5th grades. Blue is her favorite color. She likes to eat pepperoni & Swiss cheese, hot sugar free vanilla chai tea, and keto chocolate chip cookies. Coach Z’s hobbies include working out, reading, canning/cooking, and therapy training with her dog Freya and husband Adam. She is excited for the chance to impact every 2nd-5th grader’s Physical Education experience.


Meet the Principal!
Mr. Rader has worked in education for 26 years. This year he hopes to hang out with teachers in classrooms. His favorite foods are steak & eggs, and pizza. Mr. Rader’s hobbies include playing golf, fishing, kayaking, landscaping, and gardening. He is most excited about bringing all the BVPS families together – students, parents, grandparents, guardians, teachers, and staff.


Meet Ms. Snider
Ms. Snider will work with students in special education this year. She’s taught for three years. Her favorite color is red. She loves French toast and all breakfast foods. Her favorite drinks are coffee and Coke Zero. She also roots for the University of Tennessee. Go Vols! Her hobbies include coaching softball, being outside, and spending time with family. Ms. Snider is excited for everyone at VIS to work together to support students and create memories.


Meet Ms. Gammon
Ms. Gammon has taught a whooping 34 years! This year, she’ll teach Science and Social Studies. Her favorite color is green. Her favorite foods are pizza and steak. Ms. Gammon’s hobbies include family activities and watching movies. This year, she is excited to build relationships with her students.


Meet Ms. Hagerman
Ms. Hagerman started with BVPS last year. She’ll teach Math and Science this year. She loves Disney World, plants, and her favorite food is subs. Her hobbies are traveling, gardening, and spending time with family. She’s excited to make memories with her students this year!


Ms. Marlow
Meet Ms. Marlow! She will teach 2nd grade and brings seven years of experience. She has a sweet tooth and likes cheese and sushi. Ms. Marlow’s hobbies include reading and knitting. She also enjoys spending time with her family and their dog Louise. She’s excited to work with students from all over Bristol in an amazing new building!
