Meet Mrs. Branson! Mrs. Branson will teach 3rd Grade this year and has 21 years of teaching experience. Her favorite things include coffee, Target, dogs, baseball, and golf. Mrs. Branson's hobbies are shopping and spending time with family. She's looking forward to an AMAZING year with her students in the brand-new school!

Ms. Harmon has 28 years of teaching experience. She'll be teaching 2nd Grade. Ms. Harmon's favorite things include her family, iced coffee, Mello Yello, and ANY kind of food! Her hobbies include traveling with family, sewing, doing crafts, and sign language. She's super excited about getting to know her students!

Ms. Brown has four years of teaching experience. She'll be teaching 2nd Grade Reading this year. Her favorite color is green and she loves Mexican food. She also like Halloween, volleyball, and her sweet family (including her cute pups). Ms. Brown's hobbies include thrifting, reading, and refinishing furniture. She's so excited about meeting and learning with her new students!

Meet Mrs. Henson! Mrs. Henson has 25 years of teaching experience. This year, she'll be working students in 3rd grade. Her favorite activities include traveling, playing/watching sports, and spending time with her family. Mrs. Henson's hobbies include walking and working puzzles. She's so excited to work with her new students and their families. And she's excited about the beautiful new building!

Meet Our PE Teacher! Mrs. Jacobsen has four years of teaching experience. She and Coach Z will be the two Physical Education teachers for VIS. Her favorites include coffee, Pizza Inn, ice cream, playing jokes on other teachers, and going on golf cart rides. She also loves PE, running shoes, Lady Vols Basketball, and spending time with her family. Mrs. Jacobsen's hobbies include camping, running, riding four wheelers, bike riding, and going on family adventures. This year, she's most excited to see her previous students and meet new students. She looks forward to having fun in PE!

Meet Mrs. Kestner! Mrs. Kestner has 21 years of teaching experience. She'll be teaching 5th grade this year. Her favorite color is pink and she loves ice coffee. Her hobbies include reading and walking her doodle, Minnie. Mrs. Kestner is most excited to meet all of her new students this year.

She's Music to Our Ears! Mrs. Edwards has taught for 26 years. She'll be teaching Music at VIS. She likes the color yellow and anything sparkly. Her favorites include pizza, chocolate, berry bowls, and Diet Dr. Pepper. Mrs. Edwards's hobbies include exercising with friends, being outside, praise and worship, and spending time with friends and family. This year, she's most excited to make new friends, meet new kids and their families, and to have a HUGE music room. She's also thrilled to have a set location and not have to travel to different schools.

Meet Ms. Owens! Ms. Owens is beginning her teaching career with us and we are thrilled. She'll be teaching 3rd Grade Reading and Social Studies. She likes the color blue, going to Target, walking with her dog, and iced coffee. Ms. Owens's hobbies include baking and hiking. She is so excited to meet her students!

Welcome Ms. White! Ms. White has been in education for two years. This year, she’ll assist in reading. She loves all things pink, loves the beach, and loves to eat at Texas Roadhouse. Shopping is her all-time favorite hobby! She’s most excited to build new relationships with the kids at VIS and to watch them grow.

Meet Our School Psychologist! Mrs. Reynolds-Byrd is serving BVPS students in every grade. She really enjoys Dunkin', Berry Bowls, and being outside with her boys. Her hobbies include party planning, balloons, and food. When she's not working, she enjoys life in Hot Wheels City with her boys. She's so excited to see all the smiling faces she knows on one campus.

Meet Your Assistant Principal! Mrs. Hampton joins us from Washington County with 13 years in education. Her favorite color is blue, and she loves sushi. Her hobbies include watching football, traveling, trying new food, and spending time with her family. She looks forward to working with Mr. Rader, teachers, staff, and students at VIS.

Meet Our Librarian! Mrs. Aubrey will be the librarian for VIS. She has 15 years of experience. She likes steamed dumplings, anything green, and cheering on Pittsburgh sports. Her hobbies include hiking, gardening, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

Meet Mrs. King! Mrs. King has seven years of teaching experience. She teaches students with special needs in 2nd-5th grades. Her favorite color is purple, she likes breakfast foods and enjoys spending time with her family. Mrs. King’s hobbies include spending time with family and friends, church activities, and watching Netflix. She’s most excited to see her students grow and learn this year.

Meet Ms. Hilling! Ms. Hilling has taught for 3 years and will teach 2nd grade this year. She likes blue and fluffy Highland cows – HOW CUTE! She loves to read and to sing. Ms. Hilling is most excited to meet all her new students.

Meet Mrs. Dohner! Mrs. Dohner has nine years of teaching experience. She’ll be teaching 5th grade this year. Her favorites include tea, mac and cheese, otters, and the color blue. Mrs. Dohner’s hobbies include reading, traveling, board games, and baking. She’s most excited to see her students grow as readers and to help them discover good books.

Meet Mrs. O’Quinn! Mrs. O’Quinn has seven years of teaching experience and will be teaching 3rd grade. She likes blue. Her favorites include doughnuts, sunsets, and camping at the beach. Mrs. O’Quinn loves to play board games with her family. She is most excited to meet her new students and to have a cool, new classroom.

Stay Out of Trouble, Kids! Mr. Adams has been an in-school detention supervisor for the last five years. His favorite foods are ribs, Chinese, and lasagna. He likes Duke Blue. He enjoys coaching sports. His hobbies include fishing, playing golf and basketball, and working on his car. He’s excited to be a positive influence on students at the new school. He’d love to visit with you – OUTSIDE of the detention room!

Welcome to Our New Tech Teacher! Mr. Gilbert loves all things tech and will teach STEM at VIS. He has 4 years of teaching experience. His favorite foods are watermelon and ice cream. He enjoys fishing, lifting weights, coaching football and tennis, and spending time with his family. He’s excited to see how creative students can be in the STEM lab.
