Ms. Harmon has 28 years of teaching experience. She'll be teaching 2nd Grade. Ms. Harmon's favorite things include her family, iced coffee, Mello Yello, and ANY kind of food! Her hobbies include traveling with family, sewing, doing crafts, and sign language. She's super excited about getting to know her students!
Meet Our PE Teacher! Mrs. Jacobsen has four years of teaching experience. She and Coach Z will be the two Physical Education teachers for VIS. Her favorites include coffee, Pizza Inn, ice cream, playing jokes on other teachers, and going on golf cart rides. She also loves PE, running shoes, Lady Vols Basketball, and spending time with her family. Mrs. Jacobsen's hobbies include camping, running, riding four wheelers, bike riding, and going on family adventures. This year, she's most excited to see her previous students and meet new students. She looks forward to having fun in PE!
Meet Mrs. Branson! Mrs. Branson will teach 3rd Grade this year and has 21 years of teaching experience. Her favorite things include coffee, Target, dogs, baseball, and golf. Mrs. Branson's hobbies are shopping and spending time with family. She's looking forward to an AMAZING year with her students in the brand-new school!
Ms. Powers has six years of teaching experience. She'll be teaching 4th Grade this year. Her favorite colors are purple and blue, and she loves Chinese food. Ms. Powers' hobbies include hiking, gardening, and weekends with her grandchildren. She's so excited to meet her new students and to see how much they will achieve.
Meet Mrs. Henson! Mrs. Henson has 25 years of teaching experience. This year, she'll be working students in 3rd grade. Her favorite activities include traveling, playing/watching sports, and spending time with her family. Mrs. Henson's hobbies include walking and working puzzles. She's so excited to work with her new students and their families. And she's excited about the beautiful new building!
Meet Mrs. Kestner! Mrs. Kestner has 21 years of teaching experience. She'll be teaching 5th grade this year. Her favorite color is pink and she loves ice coffee. Her hobbies include reading and walking her doodle, Minnie. Mrs. Kestner is most excited to meet all of her new students this year.
She's Music to Our Ears! Mrs. Edwards has taught for 26 years. She'll be teaching Music at VIS. She likes the color yellow and anything sparkly. Her favorites include pizza, chocolate, berry bowls, and Diet Dr. Pepper. Mrs. Edwards's hobbies include exercising with friends, being outside, praise and worship, and spending time with friends and family. This year, she's most excited to make new friends, meet new kids and their families, and to have a HUGE music room. She's also thrilled to have a set location and not have to travel to different schools.
Meet Ms. Owens! Ms. Owens is beginning her teaching career with us and we are thrilled. She'll be teaching 3rd Grade Reading and Social Studies. She likes the color blue, going to Target, walking with her dog, and iced coffee. Ms. Owens's hobbies include baking and hiking. She is so excited to meet her students!
Welcome Ms. White!
Ms. White has been in education for two years. This year, she’ll assist in reading. She loves all things pink, loves the beach, and loves to eat at Texas Roadhouse. Shopping is her all-time favorite hobby! She’s most excited to build new relationships with the kids at VIS and to watch them grow.
The Bearcat Athletic Department will host a required Student-Athlete Parent Meeting-on Thursday, August 15th at 6:30pm in the VHS Auditorium. This meeting will have valuable information for all athletes and their parents regardless of their participation season. Fall sports will break out for their respective team meetings after the department meeting.
On Friday, August 16, 2024 you are cordially invited to our Fall Meet The Bearcats and V-T Football Scrimmage. Gates Open 5pm with team intros at beginning at 5:45pm at Gene Malcolm Stadium. The scrimmage is slated to start at 7:30pm. Donations will be accepted at the gates to benefit both teams. Concessions and Bearcat Merchandise will be sold and other activities will be available. Come out to support all of our fall-student athletes.
Meet Our School Psychologist! Mrs. Reynolds-Byrd is serving BVPS students in every grade. She really enjoys Dunkin', Berry Bowls, and being outside with her boys. Her hobbies include party planning, balloons, and food. When she's not working, she enjoys life in Hot Wheels City with her boys. She's so excited to see all the smiling faces she knows on one campus.

Mrs. Hampton joins us from Washington County with 13 years in education. Her favorite color is blue, and she loves sushi. Her hobbies include watching football, traveling, trying new food, and spending time with her family. She looks forward to working with Mr. Rader, teachers, staff, and students at VIS.
