VHS SUMMER SCHOOL 2026

Summer School Purpose

Virginia High School Summer School is offered for the following purposes:

• Academic Enrichment

• Dual Enrollment (DE) Courses

• Credit Recovery

Students may attend one session or both sessions, depending on their individual academic needs and enrollment requirements.

Summer School Sessions

Session 1: June 8 – June 25       8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Session 2: July 7 – July 23          8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Attendance and Behavior Expectations

To ensure a productive learning environment, the following expectations will be strictly enforced for each summer school session:

• Only one (1) unexcused absence will be permitted per session. Parent notes are not applicable during summer sessions. Professional notes only.

• Up to two (2) tardies (less than 30 minutes late) will be permitted per session.

• Zero (0) office referrals will be permitted.

Consequences

Failure to adhere to any of the expectations listed above will result in immediate release from the summer school program.

Additional Expectations

All rules, procedures, and student conduct expectations outlined in the Virginia High School Student Handbook remain in effect during summer school. Students are expected to conduct themselves appropriately, follow staff directions, and maintain regular attendance in order to remain enrolled.
