So today we're going to be talking about space start a saw let's watch a little video to get our minds back on track and give us an overview about space oh nevermind I think I left dear Tim and Moby can you tell me all about solar system the solar system is our home in the galaxy and 1/2 billion years ago back then our solar system start over millions of this stuff together everything else around immense gravitational pressure built up at the core of this gigantic is it together in a reaction that continues to this day it became the Sun and its energy pushed away mostly what is terrestrial planets pushed away by the Sun the sun is not a star but for us it's the most important one around the eight planets in our solar system are satellites in orbit the four inner planets are much smaller than the four outer ones Mercury closest to the Sun and it kind of looks like it's really slowly for every trip around the Sun that's why I couldn't go Venus is sometimes called Earth's sister Planet because of a similar-sized its atmosphere is carbon dioxide a greenhouse gas traps the sun's Heat the surface of Venus can get close to 1000 degrees Fahrenheit yeah you definitely melt on Venus the third from the Sun is Earth where we live it's got perfect conditions for plants and animals not to hot that means lots of liquid water which all life depends on ours is called the red planet because of its reddish surface that's caused by the high iron content in Martian Rock Mars has two moons it also has the tallest mountain in the solar system this month is nearly three times the height of Mount Everest was once much more like Earth would likely oceans and rivers the four outer planets are really far from the Sun Jupiter is the largest of these gas giants is at least 10 times bigger than Earth on a Surface there's a permanent storm called the Great Red Spot it's way bigger than our entire planet for centuries around Jupiter there almost 70 the first one discovered hundreds of years ago by Galileo Galilei 100 times more massive than Earth amazing set of rings Titan is one of the only spear Uranus is a gassy planet with small gray rings and 125 moons it's so tilted it looks like it's like inside some astronomers think I have done that what is the farthest planet in the solar system is it so cold is it stormy Great Dark Spot on Neptune has Red Spot on Jupiter write the solar system isn't just planets in the sun their bodies going out there to asteroids are pieces of rock centimeters concentrated in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter then there's poor even smaller than it was six dwarf planet an orbit closer to the Sun at least five others include the asteroid Ceres Eris totally different than asteroids there clumps of ice and dust comets come from far regions of the solar system called I know stuff in the solar system right what's your favorite thing out there yeah I guess that's my favorite too so from this video Lawrence Chevrolet first of all the solar system is organized plants planets are outer planets separated The Rock the gas giants are your outer planets the inner planets are much smaller are warmer in there close to the Sun Boulder make sure you write down everything I write down on your cheek so how do you remember the order of the planets you can remember my very energetic mother just served us nachos Jupiter Jackson remember that the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter so which planet is the largest sister plant planet Mars is closest to the Sun Mercury has liquid water on its surface last but not least so next we're going to talk about the force that keeps the plan what year is the drop it on me how do we stick to the Earth why don't we just fly off into space from Chrissy space what's gravity towards the Earth and pick me along the way there's a reason for the space force called gravity pulls objects together reverse has gravity first the Sun the moon apples and 1687 Sir Isaac Newton gravity gravity dependent on two things Mash distance massive objects exert a stronger than less massive objects and I'll just that are far apart is there less gravitational force on each other than objects that are close together in a 20th century Albert Einstein what is there is a relativity according to Einstein's theory of general relativity if you put something massive on a trampoline like a the surface sinks in a little put a light object nearby like a marble and it rolls towards back to work question first gravitational field pulls you toward the center of the Earth does the gravitational field you're actually pulling the Earth boards you too since the Earth is so much bigger than you you don't really feel it I don't judge Mass isn't the same thing as its weight has to do with the amount of stuff in an object is the force exerted on an object's mass by gravity is 1/6 as much as it does on Earth is only 1/6 the size of the Earth Wii cursor gravity means that astronauts can jump 6 times as high on the moon as they can at home the moon's gravity pulls at the Earth causing Tides gravity keeps the moon orbiting around the earth than the Earth orbiting around the Sun gravity even home together as one of the most important forces in the universe as far as we're concerned so from that video you should see that stop playback. how far away is gravity because Pluto weather in Fort Thomas KY for football or asteroids either the Nets were going to talk about rotation versus Revolution watch me watch me watch me watch me watch me access virus Sun revolve around the Earth revolve around the Sun revolve around the sun JDate what's new Route 8 Motel night night 999 so promise video you should know that rotate on your act with the help of stop winter spring summer fall I just love them all why wouldn't you love the seasons there's always something to look forward to that summer means long days of sun in shorter days not to mention lots of princesses okay so clearly the Sun and season are late but how you already know that the sun is pretty important it is the center of the solar system after all also know that our planet Earth revolves around the Sun orbit once every 365 days and remember Earth isn't taking that laughs while it's standing straight up and down instead of tilted on its axis tilt on its axis in the orbit around the sun can you get the yearly pattern week All Seasons let's see how since the Earth is tilted for part of the year one of the hemispheres which is half of the earth is leaning toward the sun and the other part of it's leaning away let's follow the Northern Hemisphere Once Around the Sun to see how this works in June the northern hemisphere is tilted towards the sun this means that it's getting a lot of direct sunlight straight on in Merced directly underneath of bulb things can get pretty hot and that's exactly what's happening to the Northern Hemisphere it's summertime and the living is easy temperatures are warm and days are long in December though the northern hemisphere is tilted away from the sun it's getting indirect sunlight shooting at an angle in direct sunlight needs coolant temperature shorter days and for lots of folks hot and cold try this little trick with a flash get a flashlight and dim the lights in your room a little bit if you turn the flashlight on and put it straight down onto your desk you'll see a small concentrated circle of light that's kind of bright and intense angle and put it at the top of your desk see how the light in this bright and is less intense word Falls that's like a sound like we get in Winter what about spring and Autumn during these two seasons the Earth's orbit causes the Northern Hemisphere to be neither tilted toward the sun nor away from it so temperatures during the Spring and fall are more moderate not too hot and not too cold since the entire Globe is getting about the same amount of direct sunlight that once the amount of sunlight affect temperatures in the northern hemisphere over the course of a whole gear please show this yearly pattern is by using a graph this graph shows the average high temperature in each month for one year in Toronto Canada where I live and it's getting very little direct sunlight temperature Lowe's in the months of June July and August when the tilt of the Earth on its axis is called in Toronto to get direct sunlight the temperatures are much higher positive that something is going on here and that something is this the season that you're experiencing right this very minute is caused in part by the amount of direct sunlight you're getting so seasons are caused by the Earth's Tilt on its axis and the cruises around the Sun in its orbit hamster gets more direct sun like it's summer temperatures are warmer days are longer and nights are shorter and when it gets more indirect sunlight it's winter temperatures are cooler days are shorter and nights are longer know what causes summer spring autumn and winter show me the video you should see our father our Revolution more direct sunlight the temperature on this side notice that top of the earth is tilted towards the top so the top of the earth which is the northern hemisphere is receiving this is so it's getting weather in Knox this would be in summer as we continue to Circle now the southern hemisphere northern hemisphere Napa northern hemisphere in the northern hemisphere so as we saw in the previous rotation on Earth what to talk about the phases of the Moon and what you need to know about the phases of men are that you can remember light on the right getting right like getting less bright yay brights light on the left getting less what does all that mean that corresponds to become waxing and so let's talk about the origin of the process of making it what you doing what you dip it again so slowly but surely Wendy wax why the Moon size of an accident with the sun and the moon the sign are you will not call know that you don't see the shadow missed call slowly but surely you start to see some light on the right side light so when was like this then see about ya first quarter first quarter Imports of the Moon Texas maybe just a little bit Shadow so this is called again Genesee brightness then you get all the start layaway shadow glass getting less it looks like the happening right but now instead of the first quarter third quarter sliver of light left on the moon on the left side so you know but it's just that sliver so when you are asleep Crescent I want to watch first floor waxing gibbous waning gibbous waning crescent Jose Sosa. Phases of the Moon but I don't really ever look the same 8 different phases and they all have names if you want to go by there and listen it depends on the position relative to the Earth Facebook stock first Linda movie Church and Sons look innocent but if you wait a bit so they can get to see more of a bit until we have a toenail shape Crescent texting stress disorder is third quarter phase is the moon is Anna blue so we had the first quarter 1/4 and even though it's freaking half-lit it support away going to run at 4:50 let's get down to business the next phase up is called a waxing gibbous at the right side of it up you know what's wax and think about the first letter and relaxing and Wheatsheaf are moving all the way up for me like a showroom earth-moon line up in a straight line except the lunar eclipse when the moon is under the shadow of the earth that we've pretty much the same refers to order change wax tomatoes Prince's first floor waxing gibbous waning gibbous waning crescent phase is the moon what are the phases of the moon those are the phases of the Moon save the The 25 Days the change from the first two last days is gravitational pull causes our tags along with the sun low and high Apollo 11 first man on the moon that try to identify the phase of the moon that you see Scott yeah let's set up here and go check out the boardwalk sounds like a plan let's go party stuff all the time came in the water was like 10 Freeway it was low tide when we left for the water level in the ocean was at its lowest point now it's my time to the water is at its highest point changes from low to high that's not really the tides at a continual rise and fall of water and seas and oceans there are two cycles of high low tides for every 24 hour. I don't get how the ocean fills up with more water it doesn't fill up Zoe it's called tides are caused by the gravitational pull of the sun and moon on the Earth as it rotates the moon's a lot smaller than the Sun but it's a lot closer to the Earth so it's Paul is stronger so is that why it's high tide now yeah pretty much the most Paul causes the water on the side of the earth closest to it's a bulge and create a high tide funny thing is the side of the Earth farthest from the moon has high tide at the same time that seems a little attitude to me really it's cuz the moon told the actual solid earth closer but not the water on the farthest side so that water bulges out to estranged but I got you so what happened to the water between these two bulges those areas experience low tide get it I think so are the highs and lows all I have to know anytime you need tides at a moderate Tides they have when the sun and moon align at right angles and the poles cancel out there. The highest or the lowest Tides but somewhere in the middle but if there are neap tides what do you call the highest and lowest Tides the highest and lowest tides are called that's when the sun and moon line up and upholds work together to create a super high tide good thing that wasn't today neap and spring tides don't occur every day like high and low tides nope like high and low tide neap and spring tides are tied to the Moon but they're not on a daily cycle there are two spring tides and two neap tides during every moon cycle so about 2 a month there's a ton of about Tides thank you. All that the continual rise and fall of water in season ocean and are caused by the gravitational pull of the moon and sun high tides occur on the sides of the earth closest and farthest from the Moon and low tides occur in the areas in between the bulges had I do high tide may have soaked our stuff but it sounds like you still got some smarts to yeah now let's soak up the sun set before the moon takes Center Stage savefrom.net springtime the highest high tide in the world high tide low tide dr.
