is kind of like a puzzle or what exactly is the tacos are very different parts over together to make stairs and everything from the ocean to the air we breathe the Earth has four spheres the geosphere biosphere the hydrosphere and the atmosphere let's take a look at to the geosphere and the biosphere Spirit comes from the Greek word for ground heard this before and words like geology or geography is having to do with the Earth and geosphere is kind of like the skeleton of our planet all of the other spheres are built on top of it it's made up of all the rocks and minerals on Earth from the biggest boulders to the tiniest grains of sand and rocks and minerals makeup are part of the geosphere to I'm talking volcanoes beaches mountains you know it's part of the living things do need to eat though and things are part of another one of birth scares the biosphere for life and Light beer is made up of many different biomes homes are regions that have similar kinds of plants are types of green forest grasslands and wetlands is biomes and many more makeup imagine Forest Meadow a bird chirping away I can almost smell it part of either the geosphere or the biosphere let's see if we can figure out which parts go into which sphere with the geosphere the plants and animals water is also part the difference fair but we'll talk about it later seen the rock the bird was standing on the side of the grass was growing in the bed the stream water flow through so what left with is the geosphere rocks and landforms think about the biosphere the mountain in the Stream they don't count I just left with the living things the grass the bird's the deer you found the biosphere so now you know two of Earth's four spheres the biosphere and the g sphere different puzzle pieces of birth they work together to help make our planet what it is I got to go find where my brother put my hairbrush remember when we putting together the puzzle that is our planet using the force last time we talked about last time there are two more spheres I need to complete our planetary puzzled by the hydrosphere and the atmosphere so without further Ado let's dive in see what I did there I said that because the first year were going to talk about is the hydrosphere Hydro comes from the Greek word for water and all of the water on Earth is in the hydrosphere this means that every single drop of salt water in the oceans but also all of the fresh water in lakes and rivers is in this fear of the water trapped in glaciers as ice and the water help deep underground now there's also water in the air around us to which we can sometimes be in the form of rain and snow those things come from clouds which happened to be in the atmosphere are last book certainly not least sphere contains all of the gases on the planet which is fitting since that most comes from the Greek word for air grab on to it it reaches everywhere and covers Planet like a giant snuggly blanket but our atmosphere blanket isn't all the same it's split up into many different layers shovels fear is the lowest layer 3% of the air on the planet it's also wear Colder Weather takes place above the troposphere is the stratosphere there's no weather up there and much less are but they're still important gases in it that help absorb harmful Rays from the Sun the mesosphere where is the coldest layer of the atmosphere on top of the stratosphere there's almost no readable are up there in the thermosphere above it from satellites flying around the planet the last layer of the atmosphere is the exosphere that's the highest you can go still be on earth once you leave the exosphere you're officially in space part at the beach which is the perfect place to take a closer look at what pieces of our environment make up the hydrosphere and which are parts of the atmosphere the beaches of course right next to the ocean and since the ocean holds most of the water on our planet it's the biggest part of the hydrosphere the rivers flow into the ocean are also a big part and so is the rain that's just starting to fall on our beach well that's a bummer but check this out as a part of the hydrosphere the drummer actually part of the atmosphere and the wind which is the waves around is part of the atmosphere to even though we can't see it the atmosphere is all around us in the form of the air that we breathe what are Planet couldn't be the amazing place you know what to be without the four spheres and it can be a tough puzzle to put together but the result is pretty amazing I think you'll agree talking about the Earth Earth is very complex there's a lot of this is taking place in or on earth air water and land these processes take place or different spheres of the earth described but they are connected to each other through biological and chemical cycles and processes to think of it like she did on the video there are four puzzle pieces that interact with each other to make the whole beautiful picture geosphere describes all the rocks found in Earth's crammed geo means ground cover makes up the ocean floor continents and landforms the geosphere also includes liquid molten rock found within the Earth the geosphere includes and minerals and metals family sphere describes all the water on Earth Hydro means water the hydrosphere includes freshwater found in lakes Rivers streams in the ground the hydrosphere includes salt water found in the ocean the hydrosphere includes frozen water at the hydrosphere includes water vapor found in you're too so this hydrosphere really played in two years atmosphere describes the air on Earth that includes the gases that surround the Earth air contains oxygen which is needed by animals to survive the atmosphere contains carbon dioxide which is needed by plants to make food that contains ozone which blocks harmful UV light sphere describes all the living things on earth bio means life so it's all the living things living things are found in the Earth are on Earth's surface and in the soil and water the plants and animals microscopic organisms such as bacteria and protists which are unicellular organisms and fungi
