What are some things that will help me?

  • I forgot my password - report lost or compromised passwords for any of your applications to your teacher.

  • I think my computer has been infected by virus, malware, spyware, etc - Let your teacher know. Your computer will need to be exchanged for a backup computer while your computer is scanned and cleaned.

  • I accidentally accessed a site that has pornography or inappropriate material on it - Immediately go to another site and let your teacher know so we can make sure the page is added to the block list. Do not show anyone else the site and do not forward the link, picture, etc. to anyone including your teacher.

  • A site I need is blocked by the division’s filter - Inform your teacher. If the site is appropriate, he/she will inform the appropriate personnel to get it corrected.

  • I think my computer has been stolen - Immediately inform your teacher or principal.

  • I have lost my computer - Immediately inform a teacher or office staff member.

  • My computer will turn on, but will not boot - Make sure you have no devices attached to your PC. Remove all thumb drives, SD cards, etc and retry the boot. If the computer is hung, you can hold down the power button for 30 seconds. After that, turn your computer back on.

  • My computer will not turn on - Hold the power button for 30 seconds without releasing. Release the button and push it again. If it still does not boot, inform your teacher so he/she can make arrangements for it to be repaired.

  • My wi-fi is not working - Ensure the wi-fi switch is not turned off. The wi-fi switch can be activated/deactivated by pushing the Function-PrtScr button. If the switch is on, click the wi-fi button in the task bar and disconnect from the wi-fi network. Try to connect to it again. See diagram below

  • I have a weak wi-fi signal, but I’m right beside an Access point - Disconnect from the wi-fi network and reconnect. See diagram below.
