A Virginia High School Tradition Is Back!
For years, orange Bearcat paw prints could be found on driveways, parking spaces, and businesses across Bristol. They were a symbol of school pride, and we're excited to bring this tradition back!
This year, Virginia High School Student Council and Bearcat Connect have partnered together to revive this tradition while supporting opportunities for students of all abilities. Whether you want a paw print on your driveway, parking space, sidewalk, or outside your business, we'd love to help you show your Bearcat Pride!

Virginia High School to Conduct Prom Promise Mock Crash Simulation

On Friday, April 10, our school will host the annual Prom Promise event, a powerful program designed to encourage safe decision-making during the upcoming prom season.
In collaboration with local law enforcement and emergency services, we will conduct a full-scale mock crash simulation. This event provides a sobering, realistic look at the devastating consequences of driving under the influence or distracted driving. By witnessing the intensity of an emergency response firsthand, students can better understand the life-altering stakes involved in getting behind the wheel responsibly.
Important Schedule & Safety Information
Please be aware of the following logistics to ensure a smooth morning:
• 9:00 AM: Emergency vehicles and personnel will begin queuing at the high school.
• 10:00 AM: The simulation is scheduled to begin.
• Atmosphere: During the event, there will be a significant presence of emergency vehicles, including police cars, fire trucks, and ambulances. You will hear loud sirens and see emergency responders converging on the scene.
Note to the Community: Please do not be alarmed by the increased activity and noise; this is a planned drill and not an actual emergency.
We look forward to a meaningful day of learning and a commitment to keeping our students safe this spring. Remember: one decision can change everything. Make the Prom Promise.
