I am so excited to be teaching PE at Van Pelt and want to thank everyone for being so welcoming!

 

I am from Burkes Garden, VA and went to school at Tazewell. I played multiple sports and was involved in many activities outside of sports. In my sophomore year of high school, I was invited to represent the state of VA in the Down Under International Track and Field Games- I competed in the Shot and Discus and brought home a 3rd and 5th place. I graduated from THS in 2006 and attended East Tennessee State University with a full Division 1 athletic scholarship to represent the ETSU Women's Track & Field Team. 

 

I graduated from ETSU in 2010 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Physical Education K-12 and a minor in Coaching. 

 

I have been teaching Health/PE/Drivers ED at Tazewell High School, VA for the last six years. My husband teaches Math at Virginia Middle. We have two girls, they both go to school at Tazewell High and we have a Great Dane, named Hammer. We live in Abingdon. 

 

I am loving the transition to teaching Elementary at Van Pelt, we have amazing students and staff! I look forward to an awesome year with you!
