Training
The Technology Department provides training for all supported hardware and software in the system. Training is provided by Instructional Technology Resource Teachers (ITRTs) and select trainers at each school.
Hardware Support
The Technology Department maintains all computer and server-related hardware. The division uses Dell laptops, desktops and servers. Two technicians maintain approximately 1300 computers and 22 servers.
Network Infrastructure Support
The Technology Department maintains all networking equipment within the division including all wiring, switches and routers. Internet service is provided by Bristol Virginia Utilities.
Software Evaluation and Support
The Technology Department maintains all division software including educational and productivity software. Three instructional technology resource teachers provide direct support to teachers.
Security & Surveillance Systems Support
The Technology Department maintains all security and surveillance equipment including access controls and camera systems.
