    • Above and Beyond:  goes above and beyond every single day; administrators, teachers, and staff know they can call on Logan with any issue and he will work until he finds the solution
    • Extraordinary Leadership: has positioned himself as a leader in BVPS in a short amount of time; wealth of knowledge; shares his expertise freely; led several after school internet safety workshops for parents; partnered with Emory and Henry college to provide hands-on opportunity; publishes a technology blog with tips and tricks
    • Exceptional Contribution:  most exceptional contribution to date is the creation of the VR labs at VMS and VHS making us the first school division in the Commonwealth to have such a fantastic virtual learning environment and Logan has hosted various school systems, legislators, and others to experience what we offer at BVPS
  • Jessica Jacobsen, Highland View Elementary Teacher, Nominated by a Colleague
    • Above and Beyond:  Jessica goes above and beyond every day to give her students an exciting, engaging, and high energy physical activity lesson; at school early and stays late preparing for the next day’s adventure; always takes part in school activities, dresses up with the kids, helps with events and willing to do whatever is needed; always has a smile on her face and it is obvious her heart is right here with these children; she gives 110% in everything she does
    • Exceptional Contribution:  makes Highland View a happy place to be; positive energy is contagious; encourages not only the students but staff as well; very refreshing and inspiring; spends time getting to know each child
    • Extraordinary Leadership:  natural born leader; students and staff love and respect her; always checking on everyone, leaves uplifting messages, never gives up on us and never lets us give up on ourselves; inspiration and positive energy; amazing person and educator
  • Bethany Stringer, Central Office Human Resources/Finance Secretary & Bookkeeper, Nominated by a Colleague
    • Above and Beyond:  Bethany had only been with BVPS a few months when there was an issue with our new bank and paper checks had to be generated for staff and when she picked up her check she stayed and helped organize and distribute checks to employees; goes above and beyond to assist anyone that crosses her path; upbeat, encouraging, and patient; watched as she took extra time to help a group of new employees who were struggling to complete paperwork and what a wonderful first impression of BVPS she gave to those individuals
    • Exceptional Contribution:  works with both HR and finance and the past year we have implemented new accounting software, and Bethany is very tech savvy and always willing to jump right in anytime an issue arises; definitely not an “I don’t know” person but a “Let me see what I can do” person; goes out of her way to  make the lives of people around her easier; everyone knows they can depend on Bethany
    • Extraordinary Leadership:  witnessed Bethany take charge and organize many projects; loves a challenge and her determination to complete the task is evident; natural leader; someone others turn to when they need help – professionally or personally; co-workers look up to her and know she wants to see everyone on her team succeed; she is an exceptional person
    • Appropriate Situational Response:  Bethany provides lunch relief for the front desk at central office and I have witnessed her dealing with upset parents on more than one occasion; she communicates in a reassuring manner; she makes everyone feel welcome and comfortable
