That’s right - this will be the LAST WEEK of schoolwork. However, the last day of school is technically Friday, May 22 so we will still have a zoom call that day!

This week is a little different since it’s our previously planned spring break. I’m going to use this as a “catch up” week, so any work you did not complete during the last TWO weeks, please complete them this week – seesaw and readworks. Also use this time to READ as much as you can and take AR quizzes! Please let me know if you do not have access to any books.

 

This week I will also be reading aloud “The Chocolate Touch” by Patrick Skene Catling for you to listen to from home and follow along if you have the book! At the end of our reading, you can take an AR quiz and earn points. Click on the chapter below to LISTEN to the story.

  1. Every Friday will be “Free Write Friday.” You will have 4 different writing prompts to choose from on seesaw.com.
  2. Choose one prompt from the list and write FIVE sentences about that prompt. You should have a topic sentence, three supporting sentences, and a closing sentence to tie it all up nicely in a bow!
  3. Remember our rules when writing:
    • When “I” is a word it’s always capital!
    • Complete sentences have:
    • A capital letter at the beginning.
    • Punctuation at the end (. ! ?)
    • A subject and predicate (AKA a noun and a verb)
    • Make your sentences YUMMY for the reader by using strong vocabulary and complex sentences.
  4. Record yourself reading your paragraph – I LOVE hearing your voices!! 😊
