Dear BVPS Family,

At a recent School Board meeting, Board members heard a recommendation by Dr. Perrigan to allow greater flexibility in making changes to the schedule due to bad weather.  Currently the practice has been to close schools or delay the start of school by two hours.  An additional option will be added this school year that would delay the opening of school three hours.   

We do not anticipate using the three-hour delay very often, but there are times when weather conditions might permit us to come to school with an additional hour of rising temperatures and sunshine.   In an effort to make sure everyone is aware of the various possibilities, this announcement is being made so parents and staff can make plans for childcare or any other issues that may be present with a three-hour delay.

The following chart details the various schedules that will be utilized this year.
