School Naming Survey

Bristol Virginia Public Schools has started the process for naming its first new elementary school in 50 years! We would like to solicit your input.  According to Policy FFA, the School Board will solicit names from the public but reserves the right to make the final decision on the name. School buildings may only be named in honor of a person if they have been deceased for more than 10 years.

Currently, the superintendent recommends that we name the new school Virginia Intermediate School (grades 2-5) and to rename Van Pelt Elementary to Virginia Primary School (grades PK-1). Some folks have suggested we add Bristol to the beginning of those names. The new access road to both schools is named Van Pelt Circle. With this information in mind, please complete the survey linked below.  Thank you.
