Mar. 12: Musical Mosiac

Good afternoon,

The City of Bristol Virginia and Southwest Virginia are still considered low risk communities in regards to the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Guidance from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) suggests that we continue to remain in a mode of heightened preparedness. Should the risk to our community grow, we will follow recommendations from the CDC and the Virginia Department of Health regarding cancellation of school events (see attached). Additionally, we are aware that Virginia has been placed in a State of Emergency due to the increase of COVID-19 in other parts of the State. If we learn that we need to adjust our Response Plan based on that designation, we will do so in a timely manner.

In the meantime, the Musical Mosaic will be held as scheduled, tonight at 6:00 at Virginia High School. We look forward to our amazing students showcasing their talents  Out of an abundance of caution, we ask that the guests be limited to immediate family members and guardians.  We ask that anyone who is sick stay home. We suggest that members of COVID-19 vulnerable groups, refrain from going anywhere groups of people congregate. If parents choose not to send their students to this extra-curricular activity, the student will be not be penalized.

Our overall Response Plan continues to be fluid and we will keep you informed as it changes. We appreciate your support and understanding.

Thank you,

Keith Perrigan, Ed.D.
