Mar 27: Ralph M. Dillow Soccer Scoreboard Dedication

The Virginia High School Athletic Department is honored to announce the purchase and dedication of the scoreboard for the soccer programs at Sugar Hollow Park in honor of Mr. Ralph McKinley Dillow, Jr.  The dedication ceremony will take place on Wednesday, March 27th, at approximately 7:15 pm, between the girls’ and boys’ soccer matches. 
 
Ralph “Rim” Dillow was a 1948 graduate of Virginia High School.  He was named Mr. Virginia High and was a cheerleader.  He enlisted in the US Army after graduation, serving in the 25th Infantry Division during the Korean War and received the Purple Heart for injuries sustained.  He graduated from King College in 1956 and the Richmond School of Law in 1958.  He loved to practice law and helped thousands of people who found themselves in unfortunate circumstances over the years.
 
Ralph served on the Bristol Virginia School Board from 1977-83, was on the advisory committee for the Vocational Education Department, and served on the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club of Bristol and Bristol Ballet. He also LOVED Alabama football and giving Volunteer friends a hard time.
 
The scoreboard is made possible by the generous and gracious donation from Dillow family, including his wife, Betty Edwards Dillow, children Faith Dillow Esposito and husband, Mark; Sumer Dillow Rayburn and husband, Doy; Beth Dillow Rhinehart, Julie Dillow Meador and husband, Robert; Noel Dillow Ware and husband, Paul; and Ralph M. "Rim" Dillow III and wife, Alyson.  Grandchildren include Logan Rayburn (Stephany Campbell), Lincoln Rayburn, Nicholas Esposito (Lauren Stephenson), Chance McKinley Esposito, Reed Esposito, Dalton Rhinehart, Wynston Rhinehart, McKinley Beth Rhinehart, Holston Ware, Amelia Ware, Muriel Dillow, and Judge Dillow, as well as step-grandchildren Austin Ware and Hunter Ware.
