The Virginia High School Choral Department consists of three groups:

•  Chorale

• Concert Choir

• Mixed Choir

Each year, our mission is to provide the best possible music education and experience for the students in each of these programs. The Mixed Choir is open to anyone in grades 9-12, while the Concert Choir and Chorale are audition based groups consisting of students from grades 10-12.

All Choral groups participate in a Holiday Concert and Spring Concert, as well as Graduation exercises. The Concert Choir and Chorale also perform at various community events, as well as District Choral Assessment, where they are judged and critiqued for state ratings.

Students in the ninth grade are eligible for Junior All District Choir by competing against other students from across the district. Those students who are in grades 10-12 are eligible for Senior All District Choir, following the same procedure of competitive auditions. Selection into the respective All District Choirs culminates with participation in the All District Choral Festivals, held in February and March. Juniors and Seniors are eligible for selections to the All State Chorus by audition while in attendance at the Senior All District Choral Festival.
