ALL ABOUT ME

Hi!  My name is Mrs. Susan Sims, and I can’t wait to meet you when you come to be in my room this year!

I  was born in Lebanon, KY where I lived all my life until I moved to Bristol, VA 19 years ago.  I am married and have six children and 10 grandchildren and soon to be 11 in February!.  I have no pets, but I am keeping my son’s dog Sebastian for him for a while.  I love to work outdoors in my flowers and do yard work during the summer.  I also love reading and singing in the choir at church.  My most favorite times are the times spent visiting and vacationing at the beach with my children and grandchildren.

I began my teaching career in KY in a private school teaching first grade for two years prior to moving Bristol. I was in the process of completing my teaching certification when I arrived in Bristol. I completed my Bachelor of Arts degree from Virginia Intermont with certification NK- 4; 4-8 in language, math, science and history. I taught 4th grade at Glade Spring Elementary before teaching in Bristol at Stonewall Jackson where I have been for the past 17 years.

I know this is going to be a great year since you and your friends were chosen to be in my class.  Teaching kindergarten children is my most favorite things to do!  That’s why I have been teaching kindergarten at Stonewall Jackson for the past 17 years.  I welcome you into my family at school and am looking so forward to seeing you on your first day of  school!
