I am originally from the small community of Atkins, Virginia.  I attended high school at Marion Senior High, graduating in 1994.  After high school, I attended Wytheville Community College for one year before transferring to King College in Bristol, Tennessee.  I graduated from King with a Bachelor's Degree in Behavioral Science/Education in 1999.

I have been a teacher for eight years.  I began my  career by substituting, which eventually led to a full time position with Bristol Virginia City Schools in December 2000.  I currently  teach fourth and fifth grade students at Highland View.

My husband and I live in Bristol, Virginia.  We were very blessed to be able to welcome a healthy little girl to our family on December 22, 2006.  She brings many joys to our life each and everyday.  We share our home with three cats, Abbie, Asia, and Azrael.  It is wonderful to live in a house full of love.
