Policies and Procedures

Mrs. Hampton’s

Classroom Procedures

And Policies

Classroom Rules:

Be where you are supposed to be, when you are supposed to be, doing what you are supposed to be doing.

Show respect for yourself, your peers, your instructor, and school property.

Observe the Master Rule, the Blue Rule, and the Red Rule.

Master Rule:

No one talks while the teacher talks. Students raise their hands and wait to be recognized before speaking.

Blue Rule:

This is not the time to discuss this matter.

Red Rule:

Stop!

(If the instructor says Blue Rule, it simply means that this is not the time to discuss your question or comment. It does not necessarily mean that the question is not important to the instructor. If you are doing something that is disturbing the class, such as tapping your pencil, the instructor will simply say "Red Rule" and move on. There will be no penalty unless the behavior does not stop.)

Consequences for breaking the Master Rule:

The following schedule of consequences will be adhered to if a student talks at an inappropriate time or is disruptive, such as when the teacher is talking or another student has the floor.

1st check: warning

2nd check: warning

3rd check: 1 day of silent lunch

4th check: 4 additional days of silent lunch

5th check: 1 day of after school detention

6th check: 1 additional day of after school detention, and sent immediately to the office.
