Melissa Warren - Region VII Winner

The Award Ceremony was held at the AOL Headquarters in Dulles, VA on May 30, 2003.  Award winners from the 8 regions attended along with superintendents, principals, and other guests.  The award recipients had the privilege of meeting  Secretary of Education, Belle Wheelan and  the Vice President of AOL, Terry Crane.  Each award winner was showcased in a Power Point presentation and their portfolios were on display.  Mrs. Warren said that this experience was truly the high point of her career thus far.

This prestigious award recognizes educators who have improved instruction through the innovative use of technology.  Entrants were asked to submit a portfolio showing exemplary uses of technology in instruction. The portfolios were judged on technology skills, curriculum integration, research, communication, teaching/learning styles, motivation, evaluation, and peer coaching.  The portfolios were judged by a Blue Ribbon Panel of judges chosen by Governor Mark Warner.
