Welcome to Kindergarten

Dear New Friend and New Parents,

I am so glad to have you in my class this year.  I can't wait to get to know you better.

I am looking forward to this new and exciting kindergarten year.  The other teachers and I have many fun and exciting activities planned for you this year.

The first week of school, you will only come for one day.   Your day to come to school will be August 20, 2008.  You should arrive at school by 8:20 a.m.   The following week you will begin to come every day-Monday through Friday.  Our first holiday will be Labor Day-September 1, 2008.

On the first day you come to school, I will need the following information from your parents.

  • How you will be going home-  Will you be a car rider? Will you ride the bus?  What bus will you ride and where will you get off the bus?

  • Did you pack or are you buying lunch?  Free lunch forms are available.  Lunch prices are posted on the intranet at http://www.bvps.org.  Lunch money will need to be kept in a small change purse inside your tote bag.

  • Did you bring all your forms?  You will not be allowed to stay in school unless you have provided your school physical, immunization records, birth certificate, and social security number.  If you have Court papers or custody papers, these must be filed in the office.

  • Do you have all your school supplies?  You should bring a book bag, plastic school box, crayons, pencils, Elmer's glue, and a towel for rest.  You can check out other school supplies by exploring my web page under school supplies.

I hope you will enjoy these last few days of summer.  Have fun playing outside and staying up late, because school is just around the corner and you will need to get to bed early so you will be ready for a day full of learning and fun!

Love,

Mrs. Hustad
