Behavior Management

It is very imperative that your child display self-control at school. Therefore, in my classroom, I use a behavior management chart.  The chart has four colors-blue, green, yellow and red.  Your child will begin the day on the color blue.  If your child must be warned about the rules during the day, his/her color will be changed to green.  If your child continues to disobey the rules, the color will be changed to yellow, and your child will have time-out for five to seven minutes, depending upon his/her age.  If your child continues to disobey after time-out, the color will be changed to red and a behavior note will be sent home for you to read, sign, and return the following day.  Your child will also miss his/her outside playtime, not recess time, or he/she will have quiet lunch, which means he/she will not be allowed to talk during lunch.

Extreme misbehavior will result in a visit to the principal.
