Dress Appearance - Dress Code
Students should show proper attention to personal cleanliness and dress appropriately for school. Students who come to school inappropriately dressed in clothing which may cause distraction and/or interruption in the educational process or pose a safety hazard will be required to change.
Examples of inappropriate attire and are not
to be worn at Highland View include the following:
Strapless or spaghetti strap tops or dresses.
Mini-skirts, mini dresses, or shorts that are shorter than the student's fingertips when the arm is fully extended.
Frayed , torn, and/or thread-bare jeans or other pieces of clothing.
Tank-tops, fishnet tops, mid-riff tops showing the stomach, or tops with inappropriate holes or tears.
Biker or other tight fitting shorts.
Hats, bandanas, scarves, or chains which are not normally worn as jewelry.
"Sagging" or baggy pants or shorts that expose undergarments or are worn below the waist.
Clothing with vulgar remarks and/or pictures, clothing that promotes alcohol or tobacco products, clothing that depicts acts of violence. Wrestling shirts of any kind, clothing with sexual connotations or innuendoes, or clothing that designates or insinuates gang affiliation.
Shoes with high heels or elevated sandals that can impose a danger to the student.
Inappropriate make-up and body glitter.
