(Elementary Schools Only)

The Bristol Virginia Public School Division is divided into four school zones.  Each school zone is served by a specific elementary school.  Elementary students are to attend the school for the zone in which they reside.  However, the school division may allow out-of-zone placement for an elementary student if all of the following conditions are satisfied:

  • Class enrollment at the requested school is such to allow the addition of
    out-of-zone placement(s)
    ;

  • The student is in good standing for academics, behavior, and attendance (including tardies); and

  • Parent (s) has completed the division Out-of-Zone Request.

Out-of-Zone placements must be approved annually.  A new Out-of-Zone Request must be submitted each year.  The application/request may be secured by contacting the Department of Student Services and Special Education or by clicking here:  Out-of-Zone Request.

For more information, please contact Student Services and Special Education at (276) 821-5600.
