Meet the Teacher

       Hello! Thank you for checking out our website. Just like the students, I am always trying to learn something new.  Hopefully this will open more doors to communication and another means of getting in touch with me when there is something on your mind.

        I graduated from Virginia Intermont College with a degree in Early Childhood Education and Middle School Education and I am currently certified to teach PK-8^th grade.  I have been teaching for 18 years or so, and I have taught Kindergarten and Second grade in addition to being a First Grade teacher.

        I have been married for 9+ years, and we have a son who is 7 years old.  We love to spend time together and enjoy being outdoors.  We also have a cat that is almost 19 years old, a parakeet, and two Siberian Husky pups.  I love being a mother, and dream of expanding our family in one way or another.  Family is very important to me.

        I am grateful for my opportunity to teach children, and I am motivated by their enthusiasm towards new things.  I am blessed to spend each day with them, and in some ways I spend more time with them during their waking hours than their own families! I am led by my faith and I am devoted to serving according to God’s plan for my life.
