Instructor Information
I was born in Huntington, West Virginia where I went to
Buffalo High School where I was a cheerleader. I graduated with an
"Accelerated Diploma". My next adventure was going to college where I
received an AB Degree in
Vocational Home Economics/Language Arts from Marshall University. (GO
HERD!) During my freshman year, an airplane crashed killed many of my
friends and also a cousin on the football team. I began teaching ninth
grade English at a local high school and continued with my education during the
summer at Central Michigan University where I received my MA degree in
Education.
My husband Gary is President Emeritus at Virginia Intermont College where he is
chairman of the History Department. Our daughter Krista is a nursing
supervisor at Wellmont Regional Hospital here in Brisitol.
She’s going back to school at ETSU to get her MSN in nursing as a nurse-practioner.
Our son Zachary is a student at Lee’s MacRae College in Banner Elk, North
Carolina where he is a senior working toward a degree in environmental biology.
He will graduate in December of this year.
Our dog, Lucy, is a 12 years old lab and is the baby of the household except
when Eve, our daughter’s Schnalzer comes for a visit.
