COMMUNICATION
Your child
will have a special folder that will be used throughout the
school year to bring home important papers that you will need to
review. Please look for this folder each day and sign and
replace any papers that need to be returned. Be sure to return
the folder the next day. Send any notes to the teacher, absent
notes/excuses, money, etc.… in the folder. Please do not
hesitate to call if you have any questions 276-821-5787.
FORMS
Please make
sure all school forms are returned as quickly as possible.
ATTENDANCE
Your
child’s attendance is very important for a good learning
experience. It is important that your child arrives on time and
stays until school is dismissed. If your child is going to be
absent, you will need to call and let the office (Mrs. Adkins)
know that your child will be out. The school phone number is
276-821-5770. In addition to calling it is required that I
obtain a written excuse from the parent or doctor the day of
return.
CHANGE OF CLOTHES
Please send
an extra change of clothes to school in case of spills or
accidents. I will send the clothes home to be replaced with
more appropriate clothes at the change of a season.
BOOKS FROM HOME
I do
encourage the children to bring storybooks from home. Be sure
all books have a name inside so we know to whom they belong. If
I do not get a chance to read the book on the day your child
brings them to school, they may be held over. I have a special
place we keep the books, to separate them from the library and
classroom books.
THEMES
Each week
we will have a new theme to learn about. I will send home a
schedule so that you will know what theme we are working on.
During each theme we will explore counting, letters, words,
numbers, colors, shapes, identifying pictures, cooking
experiences, arts and crafts etc… Please help your child pick
something out that relates to the themes, to show the class on
Fridays. |
